The sports school was opened in 1986 as a sports complex "Sintez" by the factory "Orgsintez". In 1995 sports complex "Sintez" was transferred to the State Sport Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan and was renamed the Republican specialized children and youth school of Olympic reserve "Batyr".
During this time the sports school "Batyr" was prepared 2 participants of the Olympic games, 2 medalists of the 27th Summer Universiade 2013, 8 world class masters of sports and more than 70 masters of sports of the USSR and Russia.
The object of activity of the sports school are:

• service in the field of physical culture and sports.
• additional pre-service education programs in the field of physical culture and sports;
• additional developmental programs in the field of physical culture and sports;
• sports training in sports in the preparation stages.

The goals and tasks of the sports school:

• recreational and sports needs service to the population, the implementation of additional programs and physical education service;
• attracting the greatest possible number of children and teenagers to systematic sports activities;
• promoting physical, moral and volitional qualities of sportsmen;
• improving the health status of students;
• increasing the level of physical training and sports results of athletes;
• prevention of bad habits and delinquency among children and youth;
• involvement in specialized sports training the optimal number of perspective athletes to achieve the high stable results which allow to enter national teams of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation;
• the development of physical culture and sports among disabled children and people with disabilities.

"Batyr" has 4 sports departments. There are judo, sambo, weightlifting, wrestling (Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle wrestling) which have more than 700 young athletes.
It has 30 coaches with high qualification category among them 2 honored coaches of Russia and 3 honored coaches of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the year the sports complex "Batyr" runs more than 30 sports events.
Sports complex "Batyr" provides additional paid services to the population:
- paid educational services for children 4-10 years
- paid services for adults in aerobics and athletic gymnastics.
