Volunteer candidates create the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ legacy

Consulting seminar on the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Volunteer Programme Legacy has been held in Kazan. Applications will be open until 8 November 2017. 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Local Organising Committee Volunteers and city volunteers of 11 host cities are given a chance to join the event.

First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, Khalil Shaikhutdinov, addressed the participants of the seminar in his welcoming speech. He wished the candidates success and highlighted the great artistic potential and solid experience of the Tatarstan's youth in the delivery of the major social projects: " I am very proud of each of you and I do believe that the ideas you have come with today will bring you to the victorious projects and will benefit our Republic." Present at the event were Director General of the Directorate for Sports and social Projects, Azat Kadyrov; Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs of Kazan, Marat Urazaev; and Prorector of administrative work and social development of the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, Ilshat Faizullin.

The seminar programme featured the presentation of the contest by the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ LOC and workshop sessions led by the experts on the following contest areas: sports and healthy lifestyle, touristic services, urban spaces development, art, soially valuable projects, and ecology.

It should be remembered that the contest features 3 steps: Application process (open until 8 November 2017); evaluation and selection of the best projects by the regional and federal commissions (until 20 November 2017); final elaboration of the projects in the creative school of the Skolkovo Innovation Centre. According to the results of the evaluation, the winners will have a chance to implement their projects in the host cities of the country with the help of the Russia 2018 LOC.
