The volunteer programme for the 45th WorldSkills Competition was officially launched today, 20 October, with an application form now live on the event website.
The programme kicked off in Sochi on the sidelines of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students. About 5,000 Russian and international volunteers had been recruited to lend their helping hand at the festival.
The start of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 volunteer programme was marked with the kickoff of the volunteer application page at the https://worldskills2019.com/en/. Anyone interested in contributing to the event can now complete an application to become a volunteer for WorldSkills Kazan 2019.
Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Tatarstan, Larisa Sulima, invited young people to join the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 volunteer programme: “I hope that here and now we successfully kick start the new volunteer programme and as early as in two years we will invite you to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, the city of Kazan, so that you could help us stage the 45th WorldSkills Competition.”
Deputy Director General for Introduction of Human Resourcing Regional Standards for Industrial Growth at WorldSkills Russia, Dmitry Glushko, said in his speech: “All competitions have a busy schedule and are centered around champions and their victories. But the festive atmosphere is created by volunteer teams. How visitors coming to Russia and Kazan will see our country and the host city will depend on volunteers. That’s why I invite you to take part in this work. You will get a unique chance to meet the entire world and to tell the world about your homeland. Join volunteering! This is only the beginning!”
Up to 2,200 Russian and international volunteers will be needed for a successful staging of the 45th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan.
