Third All-Russian GTO festival continues in Artek

These days, the third All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Festival "GTO" takes place on the territory of the International Children's Center Artek. For the first time ever the schoolchildren from all 85 regions of Russia aged from 11 to 15 years take part in the event.

For 21 days, every morning of the students begins with morning exercises, some of them are led by the GTO ambassadors. One of the honorary guests of the Festival is a GTO ambassador of the Tambov Oblast, President of the Tambov Oblast Taekwon-Do Federation, Coach of All Russia Taekwon-Do Federation National Team, honored coach of Russia, Andrey Kim.

"One of these days I had an opportunity to lead morning exercises, I showed some exercises which are both fun and good for health. In my opinion, there should be held more such "champion exercise routines" not only among the GTO passionates, but also among the average schoolchildren during the physical culture lessons and the public events. They inspire the children to become stronger and prove they are capable of a lot of things," admitted Andrey Kim.

The participants of the Festival compete in sporting, cultural and educational programmes. The Festival included the GTO relay, which featured 400m race of 8 phases.

The schoolchildren also take part in different creative workshops as part of the "GTO Team" educational programme. The "We are GTO Team" meeting, "GTO - one country, one team!" networking, and "GTO Creator Era" foresight game are also scheduled. Taking part in these activities, the participants contribute in creating a positive and attractive image of the GTO for their counterparts. During the game, the boys and girls elaborated their future CVs, Activist's Road Maps with estimated results and the mission of the GTO in the life of the young generation.

To date, the sporting programme is over, and the educational part of the Festival programme is coming to its end. Now the participants will face the creative contests and will compete for the title of the best creative team under the theme "Work out! Participate in GTO!”

The Closing Ceremony of the third All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Festival is scheduled on 6 November. The winners in individual and team competitions, as well as the best team of the Festival will be awarded at the Ceremony.
