We highly appreciate the work of Directorate for sports and social projects, Vitaly Mutko says

The 55th meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects took place today on 13 November. Moscow and Kazan attended the meeting through videoconference. The meeting was led by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. Present at the event were President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov; State Secretary - Russia's Deputy Sport Minister, Natalya Parshikova; Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin; International University Sports Federation (FISU) President, Oleg Matytsin and others.

Vitaly Mutko opened the meeting by admitting that this year was eventful and reach for the tournaments that are new not only to Kazan, but to Russia as a whole. This includes the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, the Sixth International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport (MINEPS VI), and the Red Bull Air Race leg. According to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, the events were successful - they met the expectations of the organisers and stimulated the further development of the cooperation.

"We highly estimate the work of the Directorate for sports and social projects and the Republic of Tatarstan as a whole, and their contribution into development of sports and delivery of the major sporting events," underlined Vitaly Mutko, "Kazan has completely transformed: it's an appealing place for people to visit, and it's more and more entrusted with the right to host major events. In 2019 you are hosting the 45th edition of the WorldSkills Competition, preparations for which are in full swing now. Kazan also won a bid to host the 2022 FINA Short Course World Swimming Championships. It is a serious event, and it should be held at decent level."

Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, thanked Vitaly Mutko and the Ministry of Sport of Russia.
