First results have just arrived from the European Taekwando Qualification Tournament for London 2012 Olympic Games. Today’s competition is being held in 2 categories: men – 58 kg and women – 49 kg.
Semi-finals are over, and now we know the names of 8 athletes who will be fighting for the medals in their categories.
Alexey Denisenko from Russia will meet with Joel Gonzalez Bonilla from Spain. They will fight for gold medal. Uno Sanli from Sweden and Andrei Rotaru from Moldova will compete for bronze medal.
As for women Sumeyye Manz from Germany will compete with Brigida Yague Enrique for gold medal. Kristina Kim from Russia will meet Ganna Soroka from the Ukraine to win bronze medal.
Russian team for the first time in its history is already represented by 3 athletes in the upcoming Summer Olympics. Anastasia Baryshnikova and Gaji Umarov have already won 2 qualification tickets. Alexey Denisenko is also qualified. If Kristina Kim wins bronze medal tonight she will become the 4th.
