The first day of the European Taekwondo Qualification Tournament for London 2012 Olympic Games is over. Today’s competition was held in 2 categories: men – 58 kg and women – 49 kg.
Russian Alexey Denisenko who represents the Republic of Tatarstan fought against Joel Gonzalez Bonilla from Spain. Alexey won the gold medal. Uno Salni from Sweden became 3rd.
Brigida Yague Enrique defeated Sumeyye Manz in the fight for the first place. Russian Kristina Kim was stronger than Ukranian Ganna Soroka. Thus she conquered bronze medal and she is also going to Summer Olympics.
With Kristina Kim the number of Russian taekwondo athletes who will be attending 2012 Olympic Games in London grew to 4. It’s the largest amount in the history of the team.

Jeddah city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has hosted a "Fitness Diploma" for the first time, run under the supervision of Fitness Pioneers Academy and Dar Al - Hekma University representing the Saudi Side while Kazan Cooperative University from the Republic of Tatarstan has represented the Russian Side.
Anastasia Fesikova, representing Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Kaluga Oblast, took gold in the 50m backstroke race at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship in Kazan (26.94).
