Today is the last day of European Taekwando Qualification Tournament for London Olympic Games of 2012. 119 athletes from 39 European countries arrived to Kazan to fight for 24 tickets to Summer Olympics.
Last press conference was held today and secretary-general of the World Taekwando Federation Jin Suk Yang expressed his gratitude to the minister of youth affairs, sports and tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov. “The level of organization is the highest. And Kazan is such a hospitable city. Thank you!” he said.
Russia has already secured 4 tickets. It’s the highest amount possible. And for the first time in history the number of European countries participating in taekwando at Olympic Games reached 18. “It might even be 19. Some small countries will take part in Olympics (taekwando) for the first time. For example, Serbia and Armenia. Serbian team has already conquered 2 tickets. It makes us extremely satisfied and happy”, Mr. Yang said.
Tonight the competition in last 3 categories will be held: men – 80 kg, women – 67 kg and women – above 67 kg.

Jeddah city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has hosted a "Fitness Diploma" for the first time, run under the supervision of Fitness Pioneers Academy and Dar Al - Hekma University representing the Saudi Side while Kazan Cooperative University from the Republic of Tatarstan has represented the Russian Side.
Anastasia Fesikova, representing Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Kaluga Oblast, took gold in the 50m backstroke race at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship in Kazan (26.94).
