Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin: As many as 111 leaders from 92 countries are taking part in the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy

On June 15, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin had a meeting with quests and participants of the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy 2018, an international educational forum, which is held on June 14-22 in Kazan.

The Academy will last eight days. Experts from FISU, UNESCO, the International Olympic Committee, WADA, as well as representatives of the organizing committees of up-coming World Student Games and championships will speak at the event. This year, the forum participants will be involved in the Urban Volunteers programme of the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Pesoshin welcomed the forum participants on the hospitable land of Tatarstan and noted that this year has been declared the Year of Volunteers in Russia. "It is a great honor for us to host the most active and not indifferent people of the planet this year," Pesoshin said. "It is gratifying that the event-related volunteer movement has been rapidly developing and has become a part of everyday life in Russia."

The Prime Minister stated that 111 leaders of the movement from 92 countries are taking part in the Academy.

"More than 2,000 volunteers are taking part in the FIFA World Cup in Kazan these days," he said. “And 2,500 volunteers will be involved in the World Skills Championship in 2019. "

Pesoshin invited all activists to join this multinational team. He wished all participants and organizers of the forum fruitful work, constructive dialogue and success.
