Tennis Championship of Russia is opened

Yesterday, October, 1 Kazan Tennis Academy was hosting an opening ceremony of the Tennis Championship of Russia. Shamil Tarpischev, The President of Russian Tennis Federation; Rafis Burganov, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan; Alexey Selivanovsky, the President of Tennis Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan; Yusup Yakubov, the head of Volga Region Academy of Sports and Tourism; Ravil Nogumanov, the headmaster of Kazan Tennis Academy, took part in the ceremony.

«It’s exactly a year before the XXVII Summer Universiade begins, and this magnificent sports complex was constructed for this event, – Rafis Burganov told, greeting guests and participants of competitions. – I wish you to show your best in the game. I think there won't be defeated ones, because participation in the tournament is a victory itself for all of you. I hope to see many of you in a year at the Universiade as participants, as audience and as students of Volga Region Academy of Sports and Tourism», – the Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan said.

In his greeting Shamil Tarpischev emphasized that the Republic of Tatarstan is №1 in sports in Russia: «I'm glad to hear that sport is a heritage of the region in Tatarstan. Addressing to participants of competitions, I want to say that you are the best of the best, and the future of Russian tennis is on you».

Guests with leading tennis players of Russia planted linden springs before the opening of tournament. Pavel Astakhov, Children's Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation, and Asgat Safarov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Republic of Tatarstan, took part in planting as well. Young springs were the first trees of the new sports avenue of winners. It will be a place where future champions of Kazan Tennis Academy tournaments will plant trees named after them.

There are 122 strongest tennis players who take part in a national championship from 38 cities of Russia, including more than 10 athletes from Kazan.
