The final of a city-wide autumn yard sports tournament, Street Workout 2012, on Wednesday took place in a garden near the Syrtlanova Street in Kazan. The final included two rounds.
Each participant signed a special note, acknowledging their responsibility for own state of health and safety while participating in the competition.
Kazan Executive Committee deputy head Leila Fazleeva, committee for youth and child affairs chairman Sergei Mironov and physical culture and sport committee chairman Ilgiz Fakhriev opened the event.
One site hosted two competitions at once: a power training session and a workout session. Despite the chilly weather and slippery from the rain pull-up bars, the tournament gathered quite a few citizens of various ages.
After a long and careful selection, the judges announced the names of winners in the Power Training category (pull-ups and push-ups on the bars). Yan Malochkin, a student at high school No 155, was presented a medal for the best result, Alexander Kozin of school No8 was pronounced the runner-up, while Albert Yarullin of school 24 was said to be the second runner-up.
Konstantin Balakirev was pronounced the all-round champion and Street Workout Cup 2012 holder in the workout tournament.
