I.Metshin presents Kazan as 2015 world aquatics championship host at FINA convention

The 2nd world convention of the FINA swimming federation on Wednesday opened in Moscow. Representatives from the 2015 world aquatics championship, to be hosted by Kazan, are present as well.
Russia sport minister Vitaly Mutko made welcoming remarks, thanking the FINA executives for the opportunity ot hold the convention in Russia. The sport minister noted that Russia would in the next few years host a series of largest sporting competitions, including the 2013 Universiade in Kazan, 2013 world athletics championships, 2015 world aquatics championship, 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi, as well as the 2018 world football championship. Russia was a reliable partner of both FINA and other international sports associations, and planned to hold the events up to the highest standard, the minister pledged.
Ilsur Methsin made a presentation of Kazan as the host city of the 2015 world aquatics championship, telling the FINA delegates about the city’s sports infrastructure and championship’s concept. The aquatics championship is planned to be held at 4 sites.
A display featuring all the FINA partners and sponsors, as well as companies engaged in aquatic sport and host cities of world swimming championships, is held within the FINA convention.
The 2015 world aquatics championship is to be presented by the Kazan 2015 organising committee’s general director Vladimir Leonov, the Kazan 2013 executive directorate’s media department reports.
Jeddah city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has hosted a "Fitness Diploma" for the first time, run under the supervision of Fitness Pioneers Academy and Dar Al - Hekma University representing the Saudi Side while Kazan Cooperative University from the Republic of Tatarstan has represented the Russian Side.
Anastasia Fesikova, representing Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Kaluga Oblast, took gold in the 50m backstroke race at the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship in Kazan (26.94).
