Tatarstan Prime Minister and Vietnam Ambassador discuss cooperation between Tatarstan and Vietnam

Increasing trade, cultural and scientific relations between Vietnam and Tatarstan were matters discussed by Tatartsna Prime Minister, Ildar Khalikov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia, Fam Suan Shon, at a meeting on Wednesday at the House of Government in Kazan.

Tatarstan was represented by Federal Migration Service branch chief, Sergei Chepushtanov, aide to Prime Minister of Tatarstan on foreign economic affairs, Alfred Zakirov, Russian Foreign Ministry representative in Kazan, Radik Vakhitov, and others.

Head of Tatarstan government pointed out most promising areas for cooperation, which list includes mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, petrochemistry and education.

Cooperation is planned to be built in promoting Kamaz products and implementing joint projects in the field of shipbuilding with the participation of the Zelenodolsk Gorky Plant.

Fam Suan Shon said the purpose of his visit to Tatarstan was to increase cooperation in various areas.

The president of Tatarstan’s press service said the Vietnamese delegates, led by the ambassador, had visited Kazan Federal University, to discuss arranging fact-finding trips, exchange educators and hold Days of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at KFU. As of 2011-2012, Vietnamese students were found at nearly every larger higher educational institution in Kazan.
