University Sambo World Cup comes to an end

Eight medal events took place on the final day of the University Sambo World Cup which was held this weekend at the Ak Bars Wrestling Palace.

The University Sambo World Cup, a test event ahead of the Kazan 2013 Summer Universiade, has come to a close on Sunday, December 2. Eight medal events took place on the final day of the tournament. 

Russian samboists won the highest number of medals - 11 medals in total, including 3 golds.

The tournament brought together 202 athletes from 40 countries, among them Russia, USA, Venezuela, Ukraine, Italy, Israel, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Korea. The University Sambo World Cup programme features 18 medal events (18 gold, 18 silver and 36 bronze medals)

Winners and top achievers in individual competitions will be awarded medals and diplomas, and in the team competitions, they will receive cups and diplomas. Coaches of individual medal winners will also be honoured with diplomas.
