The Russian team has for the 11th time won the race. The 34th transcontinental rally raid Dakar 2013 on Sunday concluded in Chile’s capital, Santiago.
The Dutch crew, led by pilot Peter Versluis, came in first in the final, 14th, stage, followed by his teammate, Gerard de Rooy, lagging 2 minutes and 4 seconds behind. The second runner-up was the Italian Miki Biasion, 2 minutes and 17 seconds behind.
The Russian crews throughout the race moved cautiously, which helped them not waste time and allowed win the entire winners pedestal in the truck category.
The best of the Russians in the final stage was the crew No 505, led by Airat Mardeev, who were 2 minutes and 39 seconds behind the leader, finishing fifth.
