Kazan residents hit Russian Ski Track 2013

Tatarstan residents joined in the national sports feast. A largest sports event, Russian Ski Track 2013, on Sunday took place in Kazan, as well as in many other Russian cities.

Tatarstan youth affairs minister, Rafis Burganov, said at the opening that twenty thousand Kazan residents had for the 31st time in a row put on their skis, with 200 thousand healthy lifestyle supporters joining in the event in Tatarstan.

The Russian Ski Track 2013’s main races took place in the Solnechniy camp, near the settlement of Zalesny, where a huge car park, hot meal counters and chemical toilets had been arranged. Support groups and fans throughout the competition warmed themselves up to foot-tapping music coming from the stage.

Last year, 129,153 people participated in the ski race, while in 2008 the number was 108,494.
