Kazan will turn into the university boxing Mecca when one of its venues, the Table Tennis and Boxing Centre which was built especially for the 27th Summer Universiade, will open its doors for the All-Russian University Boxing Championship where student-athletes will qualify and boxing judges will get selected for the Games. Boxing athletes from 17 regions of Russia will compete in individual and team competitions. The triumph at the championship will give the winners the spot on the Russian national team for the 2013 Summer Universiade.
Apart from true boxing fans, who will come to watch the thrilling sports action, the competition will be attended by 70 judges, who are participants of the boxing judges seminar, one in the series of special trainings held in Kazan ahead of the Games. The organizers hold the seminars during real sports competitions to give the trainees an opportunity to master their skills both in theory and in practice. After learning latest changes in the sports rules and regulations, the judges get a chance to apply their gained skills in practice. The upcoming seminar will involve 70 judges, including 58 experts from across regions of Tatarstan.
Judges seminars will allow to enhance the expertise of the sports personnel recruited to help stage the 2013 Summer Universiade.
In the press conference took part the merited coach of Russia Eduard Abdulmanov, representatives of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Tatarstan Republic and Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.
By the words of merited coach Olga Pavlova, judicial seminars are needed to pass certification, retraining judges to be competent, knew all international requirements and innovations. Referee’s mistake can ruin the results of an athlete, who spent several years preparing for a competition.
Summer Universiade 2013 will be attended 2361 referees and judges.It will be recalled that in 27th Summer Universiade may participate only full-time students and graduated students.
