Rossiya 24 TV channel will broadcast live the Universiade Torch Relay events in Khabarovsk. The live coverage will start at 6am Moscow time.
Four Flame keepers, students of the Far Eastern State Federal University, will bring the Universiade Flame secured in a miner's lantern to the railway station, where it will be greeted by Dmitry Chikunov, Vice-Chairman of the Sports Committee under the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory, and Leila Fazleyeva, Deputy Head of Kazan's Executive Committee on Social Affairs.
After that, the miner's lantern with the Flame will be brought to the start of the Torchbearers’ route, Lenin Square, the location of the Far Eastern State Medical University and the Far Eastern Institute, which is a branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The Torchbearers will be escorted by a transport column of Hyundai vehicles, as Hyundai is the Partner of the Universiade Torch Relay.
Dmitry Ivanenko, a world-class Russian athlete, silver medallist of the European Weightlifting Championship, will become the first Torchbearer in Khabarovsk. The last Torchbearer will be Ekaterina Koneva, a triple jump champion of the 26th Summer Universiade 2011 in Shenzhen. The honour to light the City Cauldron was given to Ekaterina. The total number of Torchbearers in Khabarovsk is 25.
The relay route in the administrative capital of the Far Eastern Federal District will run through the most popular landmarks of the city, including N.N.Muravyov-Amursky street named after the legendary Governor-General of Eastern Siberia; the Khabarovsk Dormition Cathedral, fully reconstructed after the destruction of 1930; and other places of interest. The Torch Relay will finish in the square in front of the Far Eastern State Academy of Physical Culture, where the Universiade Flame will be kept until 26 March, and will travel to Yakutsk later on.
