An airplane with Russian champions, the Dinamo Kazan volleyball team, at about 5 am landed in Kazan’s airport.

The team on Sunday with a score of 3:3 won over their namesake Moscow rivals.

Right from the plane, accompanied by DInamo club chairman, Asgat Safarov, Tatarstan interior minister, Artem Khokhorin, and Tatarstan youth affairs minister, Rafis Burganov, the Dinamo girls arrived to a stage, decorated with white-and-blue balloons.

To We Are The Champions by Queen, played by the Tatarstan Interior Ministry orchestra, the team and coaches came onstage.

A.Safarov welcomed the girls, noting the Kazan team was the strongest volleyball team in Russia. “It is a great present in the run-up to Universiade, it is a present timed to coincide with Dinamo’s anniversary. Dinamo Kazan is the Russian champion,” he proudly announced.

“It was very difficult to play, each point came to us through hard work and things were rather nervous from goal one but I did not for one second doubt our team. We succeeded, I am proud of my girls, the team. We were for the third time able to win,” player Ekaterina Ulanova later told journalists.
