Other attendees were Tatarstan youth affairs, sport and tourism minister, Rafis Burganov, mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, Universiade directorate chief, Vladimir Leonov, and others.
The Hyundai executives said they had come to take part in a Kazan-Moscow motor race, timed to coincide with the upcoming Universiade. Hyundai is a general partner of the Student Games in Kazan. Within the partnership agreement, Hyundai Motor CIS has provided 1,048 cars and minivans, and sold at a low price to Tatarstan 227 passenger buses.
R. Minnikhanov expressed expectation cooperation between the firm and Tatarstan would continue. “You have a great opportunity now to show yourself during Universiade, then buses from Kazan will operate at the Sochi Olympics and we have more events coming, and I hope Hyundai vehicles will be engaged there as well,” he said.
Hyundai Motor CIS general director said the participation in the preparation for Universiade was a great honour for the company. “We are proud of being partners of Universiade, one of the largest international events,” he said.
