Yana Martynova wins Russian championship on different distance

The world championship prize winner Yana Martynova from Kazan on the second day of the Russian championship won at the 200 m butterfly distance.

Martynova came in first in 2:11:73. The silver and bronze medals went to Maria Arsenieva of the Samara Region (2:13:58) and Svetlana Chimrova (2:14:35).

Yana Martynova later shared her emotions with a Ves Sport special correspondent. “I wanted to make it as fast as I could,” she said. “But most importantly, I won. So, I am very pleased.”

“I should not go below my level of a Russian champion, the more so I love the 200 m butterfly, unlike my main distance, the 400 m combined,” she commented.

Martynova won the national championship for the 32nd time.
