They will be shown at the Ekiyat Tatar State Puppet Theatre in the course of the 27th Summer Universiade.
The special repertoire of the theatre debuts on July 1 with a play The Flower of Seven Petals. It is a story of a girl who with the help of a magic flower helps a friend to get well.
On July 2 the young viewers and their parents will see The Puppet Show – a bright, colorful variety show with puppets. All of the items of the programme are largely musical, rhythmic and original – from the commonest household utensils (scarves, foam rubbers, hand fans), which come to live, to masterfully crafted puppets in the hands of expert puppet-masters. The exuberant magical The Puppet Show is a fixture of the artists’ performances in the theatre’s tours abroad.
In addition, as part of the Cultural Universiade, the Ekiyat Theatre will put on other plays, including The Magic Swan Geese, By the Pike's Wish, Magic Dreams of Apush, The Adventures of Cheburashka, The Kid and Karlsson, etc. These shows will be performed in Russian.
A few plays will also be shown in the Tatar language (The Goat and the Sheep, O Funny Shurale!, Nix). As for the Nutcracker, it will be available both in Russian and in English.
Most of the shows are participants of the International Puppet Theatre Festivals.
