Cultural Universiade programme in Kazan to include screenings of sports films

The opening day of the I Choose Sport Film Festival, July 8, will feature the screening of the motion picture Legend No. 17. Despite the fact that the movie has recently played at cinemas, it was chosen to kick off a series of sports film showings.

Legend No. 17 is a story of the victories and losses of the great ice hockey player Valery Kharlamov. Lead parts are played by the renowned Russian actors Vladimir Menshov, Oleg Menshikov, and Danila Kozlovsky.

Also shown on the first day of the festival will be an animated film called 'All Winners'.

In the course of the following days the viewers will see the documentaries Diagnosis is not a Verdict, Patience.Labor, Overtime, and the fictional films Like Mike, Like Mike-2, Nevalyashka, Vykrutasy.

The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on July 12.

The I Choose Sport Film Festival will take place in the Mir Cinema (30 Dostoevsky St.) from July 8 to 12.  The screenings will begin daily from 15:00. Admission is free.
