Universiade 2013 torch relay sets a record

According to Igor Sivov, Deputy Head of Executive Directorate "Kazan 2013", 2013 torch relay will set a record amongst Universiades, with 2013 torchbearers carrying the torch for 104,000 kilometers in 359 days.

According to Igor Sivov, the torch arrives in Kazan on the 5th of July and the next day, on the 6th of July, it is carried from Universiade Village to the main building of Kazan Federal University to be stored until the opening ceremony.

Residents of Alexeyevsky, Alkeyevsky and Spassky regions to see the torch on the 1st of July.

Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, pointed out that receiving Universiade torch is a unique event for each city and a cause for celebration, with administration representatives, local residents, sportsmen and artists watching the relay.
