Russian women’s water polo team, two days before the first match at the Summer Universiade in Kazan, played a test match against the French team, and achieved an overwhelming victory.
On Thursday, in the Burevestnik Pool, Russian water polo players, uled by Mikhail Nakoryakov, defeated the French women by a score of 11-0, having played against the Italians just before that. In the first period of the test match, which was to be held in the format of a truncated three-period game, the Russian team played against the Italian team, since the French team was late. During the first period, the Russians scored three unanswered goals against the Italians, and 11 goals later, during the next two periods of the game against the French women. The first water polo match at the Summer Universiade in Kazan will be on Saturday, with Team Russia playing against Team Japan. Facing Team Russia in this group will also be teams from Italy and Canada.
