Russian boxer Misha Aloian after gaining a victory in a debut fight and reaching the quarterfinal of the Universiade boxing tournament (52kg) has admitted that in winning his first fight of the tournament, he was helped by support from the stands.
Aloian was in pair with Dodji Ayigah (Belgium) in the opening fight. The advantage of the bronze medallist of the 2012 Olympiс Games wasn’t questioned during the whole fight, so referees registered confident victory of the Russian boxer - 30:27, 30:27, 29:28.
"The first fight is always difficult, not everything was going well, I stepped in the rink at 30–40 per cent of my abilities, later, I thought, things would get better. The audience here definitely helps in winning, it’s their homeland, their athletes, they are great, keep it up!" Aloian said.
The Russian boxer will meet Zarip Jumayev (Turkmenistan) in fight for transfer to the next stage.
