11 July 2013, Thursday

The Aquatics Palace is one of the best sport venues of the world. This was said to the journalists during today press-conference dedicated to swimming competition by the FISU Technical Delegate Billy Joe Wadley and the FINA Technical Delegate Dale Neuburger.

“We would like to mark a high level of competitions. 638 athletes from 76 countries participate in them. I want to express gratitude to Kazan, the National Swimming Federation as well as the directorate of the Aquatics Palace which is one of the best venues of such type in the world. I hope it will remain such for a long time” – said Billy Joe Wadley.

Dale Neuburger in his turn thanked organisers of competitions for a possibility to participate in such outstanding event. He agreed that the Aquatics Palace is one of the best sports venues in the world. The delegate marked that it is great honour for FINA representatives and athletes to work at such venue. In 2015 the world championship in water types of sport will be held in Kazan and the delegates are sure that competitions will be held at the same high level.

“I am very glad that FISU and FINA delegates highly estimated this sports venue. We made sure that the swimming pool corresponds to the highest standards in April when the Cup of Russia was held here. A venue of such class is built in Russia for the first time since Moscow Olympiad” – marked the President of the Russian National Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov.

As a reminder, swimming competitions, which will last till July 17 inclusively, are held in the Aquatics Palace from today.
