Kul Sharif mosque over one week climbs 5 lines up in Russia 10 ranking

The only representative of Tatarstan, the Kul Sharif mosque, has in the Russia 10 ranking climbed up to the 18th position based on the results of a popular voting.

As of the moment, the Kazan’s symbol has scored 110.5 thousand votes, ranking 18th. On 15 July the mosque ranked 23rd with 60 thousand votes.

Russia 10 is a project run by the Russian Geographic Society and Rossia 1 TV channel. The voting that opened in March includes three stages, based on which results ten new visual symbols of Russia are to be selected from a list of landscape, cultural and architectural assets. They will be replicated in the Rossia landscape park near Moscow.

The 2nd round of voting is in progress. A favourite site can supported on project’s official website and through short messaging. The stage purports to select 30 finalists.
