Few doubt that Berdyev’s men will make it to the next stage of the competition, since the Kazan team is by its class and lineup much better than the Serbs. Achieving a quick success in the first match, the Kazan team decided to save their strength and was immediately punished.
The match versus Zenit was much more important for Rubin at that stage and, after a rather difficult game within the Europa League, they managed to perform well against Russian championship’s silver winner. Despite that the match began unsuccessfully for the hosts, as early as in the 6th minute Danni opened the score, Berdyev’s men pulled themselves together and snatched a victory in the extra minutes.
Rubin is not predicted to have problems in the upcoming match, at least, is not expected to lose. The team will from now on be concerned with a trip to Grozny, where a difficult game versus Terek awaits.
Reinforced the day before with Torbinsky, Rubin narrowly escaped losing their two-goal advantage in Serbia. The main roster did not look concentrated enough, resulting in two missed goals.
