Rubin beats Jagodina, advances to UEFA Europa League’s next stage

Kurban Berdyev saved his main players, letting a half-reserve roster onto the pitch. Throughout part one Rubin held the lead but the Kazan team’s offensives lacked completeness. The scoreboard by the end of part one remained empty. Early in part two, Karadeniz managed to open the score.

The red-and-greens confidently led their way till a victorious finish. Rubin thus, outplaying Serbian Jagodina in Europa League’s second qualification round, became an opponent of the Danish FC Randers.

After the last Danish championship, Randers ranked third. According to the Fair Play ranking, the club has twice made it to Europa League, in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. The first encounter is scheduled to take place on 1 August in Denmark, while the reciprocal match will on 8 August be held in Kazan.

At the present stage of the tournament, 18 clubs join the battle, as well as winners of the second qualification round’s 20 pairs.
