5 August 2013, Monday
Rubin of Kazan in the Russian Premier Football League’s 4th round received the reigning national champion, CSKA of Moscow.

The Kazan was able to create the first dangerous moment as early as the 7th minute. Kulik struck after a CSKA defence line’s failure. The ball bounced off and flew in yet another corner kick. In the 14th minute, Karadeniz created a gorgeous moment for Kuzmin but Akinfeev took the killer blow from Rubin’s defender.

Ten minutes later, the CSKA players reciprocated the dangerous move, Zuber hitting the bar but the ball bouncing off and flying into the hands of the goalkeeper. Shortly before the end of part one, Mvila struck but the ball flew slightly above the goal posts.

One hour into the game, Rondon, who forcefully made it inside the penalty area and sent the ball, created a 100-percent chance. Five minutes later, the Kazan team’s forward was able to make a contribution again but was just a little less than lucky.

Rubin throughout the match created countless dangerous moments and yet failed to score, resulting in 2 lost points and a tie with the national champion.
