The forum is due to take place on 12 to 17 August in the town of Bilarsk. President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, will be a guest of honour. The next year will be anniversary for Selet, it will turn 20.
Attendees at the conference were deputy minister, Rustam Garifullin, deputy education minister, Svetlana Giniatullina, Tatar youth public fund Selet director, Javdet Suleimanov, and others.
“The forum will this year be held for a second time, since it has for 16 been held as a festival,” deputy youth affairs, sport and tourism minister, Rustam Garifullin, noted. “It will gather 5 thousand people, winners of republican subject-specific academic competitions and creative contests, proactive higher school students from Russian regions, representatives from Tatar national cultural autonomies, public organisations, as well as foreign visitors. The forum is held with the active support of the Alekseyev region’s administration.”
Speaking of the event’s specifics, the deputy minister compared it to the Russian forum Seliger. “Selet is as good and is in some aspects even more interesting,” Garifullin concluded.
S.Giniatullina enhanced the forum’s purpose was educational. “The function of each platform is to teach something to each participant,” she said. “Selet is primarily a place where traditions and innovations meet, where the Tatar traditions are preserved. It is a place for children to speak in Tatar.”
The forum’s budget totals 10 million roubles, said Selet public fund director.
“The forum is due in one week – it is a result of a concerted effort,” he enhanced. Much had been done to implement three main lines, he explained. The first is tradition and history in relation to innovation, second is exchange of expertise and knowledge, while the third is Selet “a territory of success”.
Forum’s programme, said Selet programme director Anna Feldman, would focus on forming motivation for self education and achieving success. Applied training sessions are included.
