Russian Free Running Tournament takes place in Kazan

Russian Free Running Tournament “Parkour Challenge” takes place in Kazan on the 17th of August. According to the press service of Youth Union of the Republic of Tatarstan, citizens and guests of the capital can both watch and participate in the event.

“Parkour Challenge” is the largest tournament of its kind in Russia. It started in St Petersburg on the 27th of June and has already been held in Moscow, Samara, Novosibirsk and other cities.

Special hurdles and constructions are installed in the cities hosting the qualification rounds. Youth Union of the Republic of Tatarstan is the tournament’s Kazan partner for the second year.

According to Svetlana Permyakova, Chairwoman of Youth Union of the Republic of Tatarstan , “Last year’s “Parkour Challenge” debut attracted many young people, who attended trainings and workshops. This year’s event will be as impressive”.

Over 50 tracers compete in each city. Judges choose 16-32 athletes to participate in qualification. The winner goes on to compete in the national finale in St Petersburg.

A new Guinness record is to become one of the finale’s highlights this year. Also, the international tracer team will present a projection show. The finale concludes with a concert and the awards ceremony.

Time and venue of the tournament are to be revealed later.
