“We visited a similar women’s tournament with $50,000 prize pool last year. This year, the contestants are equally level,” – said Sergey Dubrov, - “We expect the matches to be interesting”.
He referred to Kazan Tennis Academy as “a wonderful center, great facilities for the athletes and the supporting staff”.
Hans-Jurgen Oks said that he has already visited Kazan twice before, both times in winter. He expressed hope that outdoor matches will be just as good and will attract audiences to support the players.
Kazan Summer Cup is a part of ATP and ITF series, offering $50,000 in prize money. The tournament featuring over 100 players from Russia, Austria, Belarus, Hungary, Georgia, Netherlands, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Estonia, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan began on the 10th of August.
