No. 1 ranked player of Kazan Summer Cup wins against Mikhail Fufygin from Russia

Unfortunately, Tatarstan tennis players could not get into the next round of the men’s tournament. Timur Kiyamov lost to Ivan Nedelko 6:3 6:3. Aydyn Akhmetshin yielded to Mikhail Vaks from qualification tournament with the same scores. Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky, Kazan Summer Cup’s No. 1 ranked player, confidently won against Mikhail Fufygin from Russia 6:2 6:2.

At women’s tournament, Alexandra Artamonova and Marina Shamayko from Russia, Anna Shkudun from Ukraine and Martina Borecka from Czech Republic made it to the main tournament grid.

Veronika Kudermetova won against Polina Pekhova from Belarus 6:2 6:0, Marina Melnikova won against Ukranian Tatiana Arefyeva 6:2 7:5, whilst Mayya Katsitadze beat Margarita Lazareva 7:6 7:5 at women’s main tournament.

In men’s doubles, Viktor Baluda/Konstantin Kravchuk duo lost the first set at tie-break to Mikhail Fufigin and Vitaly Kachanovsky, but then managed to turn the match around and won 6:7 6:3 10:8.

Ekaterina Yashina from Tatarstan played with Alena Fomina from Ukraine against Tatiana Samodelok and Vlada Yakshibarova, winning 6:2 6:4. Another Tatarstan athlete, Aida Kalimullina played with Anastasia Frolova. According to the press service of Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, they lost to the duo of Martina Borecka and Alexandra Artamonova.
