Kazan Kremlin museum asks to support Kul Sharif mosque in Russia 10 project

28 August 2013, Wednesday
Stage two of a multimedia competition run by Rossia TV channel and Russian Geographical Society is close to conclusion.

The only Tatarstan’s sight, the Kul Sharif mosque, ranks 18th, over 1 million people having cast their votes for the Kazan’s architectural symbol.

Kul Sharif has for over one month been at the leading positions, sight being supported by public and cultural organisations, culture and art figures, and hundreds of people from Russian and world cities. The Tatarstan’s asset managed to climb up to the 13th line in the ranking. Some setbacks occurred throughout the competition, organisers revoking a part of the votes, explaining that they had been falsified.

Stage two will conclude on 30 August. Of the 80 nominees, 30 sights at the top lines will make it to the final.

“The reserve museum Kazan Kremlin appeals to all compatriots who care about Tatarstan’s cultural heritage, to vote for our native site, the pride of Tatarstan, the globally known mosque Kul Sharif!” reads the museum press service’s release.

Votes can be cast on the 10russia.ru website or by sending an sms message with the number 15 to the number 1880.
