Universiade Museum ready to impress its visitors again

The unique project of the FISU International Education Centre (FISU IEC) - the only museum in the world dedicated to the Universiade - will open on September 2 with an updated exhibition.

The museum welcomed its first guests on the opening day of the Universiade Village - 29 June - and impressed its visitors with its simple but creatively different and modern solutions.The museum, which occupies only a small space, reveals a whole world of university sports through its bright interior, interactive services and rare exhibit items.

Visit the Universiade Museum and see with your own eyes how Kazan won the bid to host the 27th Summer Universiade, get acquainted with the achievements of Soviet and Russian athletes-winners of the Universiade, as well as the history of the World University Summer Games. The special part of the updated exhibition is showpieces collected during the Universiade: uniforms, personal belongings of athletes, balls, T-shirts, souvenir Universiade medals signed by winners of the Games in Kazan. Guests can have their pictures taken with the Torch of the Summer Universiade 2013, watch films about sports, and even exchange souvenirs. In addition, the museum will conduct master classes, seminars and autograph session with athletes.

The team of the museum continues to collect items related to the Universiades. Each visitor can donate not only exhibits, but also ideas to the development of this project.

As we reported earlier, the museum is located in the Main International Centre of the Universiade Village and is open for residents and visitors of Tatarstan, who can now learn all about the Games and Universiade winners, on weekdays from 10.00 to 17.00.
