German athlete wins Tatarstan Open-2013

3 September 2013, Tuesday
19-year old Anna-Lena Friedsam from Germany won international tennis tournament Tatarstan Open-2013, defeating Marta Sirotkina from Russia in the final (6:2 6:3).

The Russian tennis player put up a good fight in the second set, but she let go of the opponent too quickly. Despite Sirotkina’s best efforts, Anna-Lena Friedsam confidently concluded the second set and the match with a well-deserved victory.

In the doubles final a day earlier, Ukrainian duo Valentina Ivakhnenko/Katerina Kozlova won against Basak Eraydin from Turkey and Veronica Kapshay from Ukraine 6:4 6:1. Ivakhnenko and Kozlova defended the title that they won last year – something nobody has managed to do on this tournament before.

After the matches were over, the winners and finalists were awarded with cups and memorabilia.
