Ak Bars wins against Zaripov’s new team

For the first time in 12 years, Danis Zaripov played against Ak Bars – for all these years, he was a star of the Kazan team.

The home team started the match actively: Janne Pesonen opened the score on the 11th minute. Mikhail Varnakov doubled the Kazan team’s advantage in the middle of the second period. On the 37th minute, Dmitry Obukhov scored again, seemingly leaving the opponents no chance whatsoever.

However, in the next 10 minutes, Kazan team almost lost its advantage: Chris Lee, assisted by Zaripov, and Yaroslav Khabarov minimized the score difference. But still, the team had no strength and time left to end the match with a draw. 3:2 – Ak Bars’ first victory in regular time. Magnitogorsk team comes back from the away leg with a single win in four matches.
