16 September 2013, Monday
Tatarstan racer Timur Timerzyanov came second at the 8th stage of European Rally Cross Championship. After the Austrian round, Timerzyanov confidently tops the SuperCars division’s table.

He was not very successful during the qualification, coming 8th and scoring only 9 points. But he came third in semi-final and reached the second place in the main race.

Hence, he gained a total of 18 points, similarly to his closest rival David Janni from France, who currently is 20 points behind Timerzyanov. With only one stage of the championship remaining, Timur Timerzyanov stands a good chance to defend his champion’s title.

In Super1600 division, Ildar Rakhmatullin, another Tatarstan racer, ranks third. He gained 21 points on this stage and somewhat solidified his position. But he will not be able to catch up with Nitiss, who has already secured the first place after eight stages.

Rakhmatullin’s goal in the next stage is to preserve his advantage, as the closest rival is just 3 points away from him. The final round of the championship takes place at Estering in Germany in a week.
