Over 600 people take part in the bike ride. Part 2

Yesterday, a second annual bike ride Kazan – Isle of Sviyazhsk, attracted over 600 participants despite the windy weather. Alen Khayrullin and Pavel Grachyov, Kazan citizens who went around the world on their bikes, also took part in the ride.

The participants were divided into two groups: professionals – 50 people who rode for 80 km, and amateurs, riding only for 30 km.

Entertainment program started at the picturesque site of Sviyazhsk: drag (100 meter race), figure bike riding and other competitions were held by the organizers.

The visitors were invited to a free tour of the island’s landmarks and were provided with a free meal.

A charity campaign was held as well: the ride’s participants donated money for a memorial to Onisim Pankratov, the first person to go around the world on a bike 100 years ago.

According to the press service of Ministry for Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of Tatarstan, the ride’s participants were presented with souvenirs, and the competitions’ winners were awarded with diplomas and memorabilia.
