A record number of people participate in the Nation’s Cross-Country Race

Yesterday, the Nation’s Cross-Country Race was held in Kazan for the tenth time.
During the Monday business meeting at the Mayor’s Office, Ilgiz Fakhriev, Chairman of Physical Culture and Sport Committee of Kazan Executive Committee, stated that a record number of people participated in the Nation’s Cross-Country Race – 24,300 runners.
Ilgiz Fakhriev also pointed out that over 70 people took part in the half-marathon, organized in collaboration with Athletics Federation of Tatarstan.
Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, said that the heads of districts should take part in the next races: “They should personally inspire their districts to go in for sports”.
