Ak Bars wins with a single goal.Part 2

30 September 2013, Monday
Ak Bars Kazan won over Severstal Cherepovets in the first game of KHL Championship’s second home leg.

The game at Tatneft-Arena ended with Kazan team’s minimal advantage. Equally matched opponents, an almost identical number of goal attempts, a difference in one double-booking made it logical for the game’s result to be determined by a single goal.

It was scored by Konstantin Korneyev with the assistance of Alexei Tereshchenko and Kirill Petrov during powerplay in the end of the first period.

According to KHL’s press service, Ak Bars’ goaltender Barulin made 25 saves during the match, whilst Severstal’s Stepanek – 23 saves.

Kazan team plays against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the next game on the 29th of September.
