Rafis Burganov meets Tatarstan athletes – Olympics team candidates. Part 3

According to the minister, currently, Tatarstan’s list consists of 14 candidates for Olympics team and 3 candidates for Paralympics. Burganov pointed out that the athletes have many qualifying competitions before them and expressed his hope that as many Tatarstan athletes as possible will join Russian Olympics team, particularly in biathlon and freestyle (ski-cross and half-pipe).

He paid a special attention to Paralympics team candidates: “We expect nothing but medals from you. We always count on you, and for a good reason. Your perseverance and dedication are enviable”.

Leonid Savosin, Tatarstan Ski Race Head Coach, pointed out that four Tatarstan athletes are obvious candidates for the Olympics team in this sport, whilst also raising the issues of coaches’ and athletes’ salaries, quality equipment procurement and athletes’ housing conditions.
