Ak Bars blanks Lokomotiv

Winning against Severstal with a single goal, Ak Bars has not been very efficient against Lokomotiv, either. For two periods, no goals were scored despite an acute struggle. This was mostly due to the goalies who performed some amazing saves from time to time, whilst the field players were trying to start fights, effectively cut short by the referees.

The third period could have gone by the same scheme, but four minutes into the game, Tatneft-Arena roared in joy twice. Janne Pesonen and Tim Stapleton scored goals 28 seconds apart from each other. Despite Yaroslavl team’s attempts, they could not recover, and the game ended with Ak Bars’ victory.
