Five Volga Academy of Sport and Tourism students win Russian Belt Wrestling Championship’s prizes. Part 2

Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism students won five medals at Russian Belt Wrestling Championship. Over 200 athletes from 26 Russian regions competed in Vladikavkaz.

According to the Academy’s press service, Gabdyjalil Suleymanov and Ildar Abasov won in 62 kg and over 100 kg categories, respectively. Guliya Khabibullina ranked second in the 58 kg category, whilst Zamira Akhmedova and Alena Ozhgikhina won bronze in 58 kg and 76 kg categories, respectively.

“Today’s competition went well for us, - says Azat Akhatov, Volga Academy professor and Meritorious Coach of Russian Federation, - Zamira qualified for Master of Sports of Russia, whilst Gabdyjalil, Ildar and Guliya won the right to compete at the World Championship in Bashkortostan this November. Last year, none of our students qualified for the World Championship. Later, our other students, Olga Kuznetsova and Ildar Valiullin will compete at the World Championship among juniors”.
