“It feels great to be at this sporting venue. I have never had an opportunity to train and compete at such a hall, I am very glad for our future champions, they have wonderful training conditions,” – stated Barsukova.
According to Rafis Burganov, Minister for Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of Tatarstan, Universiade spurred Kazan citizens’ interest in sport, people started enrolling their children in sport schools and going in for sports themselves. The minister thinks that this interest should be maintained and routed appropriately.
Yusup Yakubov, Rector of Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, said that rhythmic gymnastics is one of the academy’s priorities with 43 students specializing in it. Four the academy’s students of will coach at Yulia Barsukova’s school.
Gulnara Sergeyeva, President of Tatarstan Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, stated Yulia Barsukova’s Kazan school is the third one in the county after the ones in Moscow and St Petersburg. Girls aged 4-8 can attend. The training costs more than municipal schools, but the students have much better conditions – they are provided with equipment and have the best coaches.
