Ak Bars loses at home for the first time this season. Part 2

The start of the championship was great for SKA that came to Kazan already sharing the first place in the tournament table with Barys Astana.

SKA players allowed Ak Bars to come very closely to their net, but their goalkeeper and dedicated defense saved them from goals. Despite Barulin’s confident game, he conceded a goal from ex-Ak Bars player Evgeny Skachkov in the second period.

Ak Bars soon retaliated, as Vladimir Tkachev shot at the gate, Salak deflected, and Artem Lukoyanov finally scored for the Kazan club.

It looked like Ak Bars should have been leaning on the opponents in the third period, but the initiative has not turned into goals. During SKA’s attack, Dmitry Yudin caught the rebounded puck and took a shot from the halfway line – 1:2. In the end, Ponikarovsky scored shorthanded, leaving Ak Bars no chance and setting a final score – 1:3.
