"We were pleased to accept the invitation to work in St. Petersburg, because the experience we gained when carrying out the volunteer programme should be shared with all regions of Russia, especially since the World Combat Games is a tournament of international scale, and the task to implement the volunteer programme in a record period of time made my colleagues all excited to get down to work!

We immediately contacted activists of our Kazan 2013 Volunteer Centre in St. Petersburg and invited them to work as team leaders at the venues. We selected the most experienced ones upon the results of their work at the Universiade in Kazan, so now we have an inter-regional team! I'm sure everything will be great!" said Alexander Karpov, Director of the Volunteer Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate.
