Ak Bars defeats Medvescak for the first time. Part 3

Ak Bars and Medvescak, KHL Championship's newcomer, scored goals' galore in their first match ever. The game concluded with Ak Bars winning 5:3 due to two shorthanded goals.

In the first period, Mikhail Varnakov scored double, creating a comfortable advantage for the team. In the second period, Charles Linglet won one of the goals back. Then, Grigoriy Panin was penalized for 27 minutes. And the guest team, despite having a 27% of powerplay success, conceded two goals instead of scoring.

It relaxed Kazan team, and they almost paid for it when the guest team scored twice in the third period, 28 seconds apart. However, the time out helped Ak Bars to brace themselves and stop conceding goals. According to the league's press service, Alexey Tereschenko set the final score 1:17 minutes before the siren, scoring one last goal for Kazan team.

Ak Bars won the fifth match in a row and the ninth one out of last ten. Medvescak was unable to gain any points for the first time over last dozen games.

Kazan team still has six home matches to play.
